Very thoughtful conversation - quite interesting examination of how we've gotten to where we are now. My two cents worth is that decades of education dedicated to removing the connection between reality and the concepts that are supposed to explain it has finally come to roost in the after baby boom generation. For Democrats it is represented in the attitude, "My ideas, right or wrong", without ever considering the need to prove the truth of their arguments vs. Republicans who have abandoned reason and concepts entirely, whose only desire is to destroy completely all those people who rely on abstract arguments to 'prove' why they should always get their way. The Democrats say, " Do it because I say so. The Republicans say, It is " Us vs. Them" - you must pick a side. Thanks for the discussion.
